Dummy's guide to open ports on DG834GUv5:
1. Using any computer wired connected to the DG834GUv5, open any Internet Browser on the computer.
2. On the address bar, enter 10.1.1.1 then press enter key.
3. When prompted, enter username and password.
Set a Static IP (i.e. 10.1.1.5) using address reservation on DG834GUv5:
4. From the left panel of the settings, under advanced click LAN Setup
5. Click Add under Address Reservation.
6. Then reserve the 10.1.1.5 IP address for the device you wish to forward the port.
7. Click Add then apply.
Add the custom service for Firewall Rules:
8. From the left panel of the settings, click Services.
9. Click Add Custom Service then add the following:
Name: Any unique name
Type: TCP/UDP
Start Port: 22
Finish Port: 22
10. Click Apply.
11. Click Add custom service, then add the following values:
Add the Firewall Rule on the Inbound/Outbound traffic:
12. From the left panel of the settings, click Firewall Rules.
13. Click the Inbound Services or Outbound Services Add button. If you are unsure whether the program you are using will use these ports for inbound or outbound traffic.
Service Type: Service name used on step 9
Action: ALLOW Always
Send to LAN Server: 10.1.1.5
WAN Users: Any
Log: Never
14. Click Apply to save changes.
